Yesterday, February 11, 2016, we had the pleasure of meeting a sweet lady by the name of Bonnie. She and her daughters came to the museum to look around, and so Ms. Bonnie could reminisce about the good ole days. The best part was that dear Ms. Bonnie was celebrating her 102nd Birthday! That's right, 102!!! We even sang Happy Birthday to her. And to make it even better, her daughters wanted to surprise her with a horse and buggy ride. The pure joy on Ms. Bonnie's face is one we won't be forgetting (or the giggling either) ;-) She was like a little girl again. It was priceless. You could feel her daughter's love and happiness as they watched her ride in the buggy. Then they joined her, and we decided to make it even more special by taking them by horse and buggy to Red Bud Cafe for lunch. Now how cool is that?!?
They were delighted! Now one would think that this day wouldn't get much better, but then they would be wrong....because while Ms. Bonnie and her daughters (& Dennis, Kelly & Brent) were eating lunch, in walks Blanco's very own astronauts, Tom Henricks and Dan Brandenstein! Now being the great men that they are, they of course come to say hello and are happy to meet Ms. Bonnie and take a picture with her. So, a big thank you to Tom and Dan.
When Ms. Bonnie and her girls got home yesterday afternoon, they emailed us telling us what a wonderful time they had, but truth be told, we were the ones who were delighted to have them there with us.
So thank you to all of them for celebrating Ms. Bonnie's birthday with us, and we do hope you had a wonderful and memorable time!
Great things are in store for Buggy Barn Museum and Pine-Moore Town! The crew at the Buggy Barn Museum would like to thank all of those who have continuously supported us and have stepped us and helped.
2015 brought new and great things things for the Buggy Barn Museum (BBM). The Pine-Moore old west town was completed, just in time for our annual showcase, which was a huge hit! BBM also held a Christmas event open to the public in which even Santa stopped by! We had a tremendous turnout, and the presents we received benefited so many local families. BBM was proud to help make a child's Christmas better!
Our museum has been experiencing a booming of visitors, thanks in part to being featured on "the Daytripper". That was one of the greatest highlights of the year! If you haven't seen the show, stop on by the BBM fully stocked gift shop to purchase a copy.
2016 is already looking to be a fantastic year! We will be featured in May of Texas Highways Magazine, so be sure to keep a look out for us in there. We were also featured on KKYX Radio station to talk about all the exciting things that have been going on here at the BBM; as well as us being in the San Antonio Western Heritage Parade last Saturday. We had 6 of our carriages/wagons and 3 of our riding horses in the parade. We won Most Original for our Conestoga Wagon!! Such a great time!
We are definitely excited for this year. We have new members on our board: Debbie Homieir and Krystal Mulvaney, and they are already bringing new ideas to help make us a "Must See" in Texas!
Make sure to check the Schedule Tab for all the upcoming events and be sure to follow us on Twitter, Facebook and Instagram....@buggybarnmuseum
